If your bike is carburetor equipped, make sure the fuel petcock is in the off position then run the engine until it stalls from gas starvation. It is also recommended to add a fuel additive/stabilizer. Gasoline now contains ethanol which quickly separates from the petroleum and will gum up the carburetor.

Install a battery tender to the battery. If you use one designed to turn-off after the battery reaches a full charge state, you can leave the tender hook-up through the winter season.
